I think i would have to agree with the main character of Dostoevsky's Crim and Punishment in that some people are above the law, though i would like to expand on it. He says that only people of a certain high intelligence should be above the law, but i think that is retarded. There are plenty of people who are really intelligent and also evil. Plus i also hate when things are measured in IQ. IQ has nothing to do with who you are. I do think that some responsible people... or people with good moral character should not have to be affected by the law. I have no idea who would qualify though, and i don't know who would be able to decide. I guess it sounds kind of unfair, but different people should be treated differently. Like me and my brother for example. (I'm not saying that i am better than my brother in any way, because we were both just kids) But we both frequently skipped school a while ago.
ME: I skipped school occasionally, never missing more than one or two days in a row. I only did this because school bored me to no end and it kind of went against my political beliefs at the time. I still managed to keep my grades up too, and i never got caught but once and i was really sick that day anyway.
Ross: HE skipped school for over a month in a row, almost flunked out of 6th grade or whatever grade he was in, and he did it just because he didnt want to go.
His behavior obviously needed some kind of intervention because it became a problem. While i could have acted out in a more responsible way, like some kind of early graduation program or OJT, i didn't but i turned out ok. And so did ross.
