well spank my ass and cover me in jello... or just the jello part
so yeah, i saw blue man group this evening. big ol' fan meet. i'd say about 50 + people. anyway, out of all the people there, before the show started this guy with a clipboard came over and asked me how tall i was, asked if i had seen the show before, and then asked if i would like to participate. apparantly i answered all 3 questions correctly because only a moment later i found myself walking down to a side room where i changed shoes and was prepped for the participation part.
for those of you who want to know what happened
hey! nice clicking! well, anyway, they have me change my shoes into shoes that will match the ones seen later in the show. wha happens is i'm picked out of the audience, taken on stage, put into some overalls, get dabbed with some blue on my cheek (still there, haha) then a helmet gets put on me and i'm led off stage. at that point i take the helmet off, and hand it to some guy behind me, then i walk over to a chair back stage, i unzip the overalls.. really more of a jump-suit, and then sit down and two stage hands pull them off my legs, then they put on a painted set of overalls (on the screen onstage, i'm being smashed into a canvas by swinging upside down from a cable and have had paint put all over my jumpsuit to create a work of art a-la Yves Klein... or so the audience thinks) after i have the overalls on, i'm placed inside a little box (which is actually very roomy and smells a little funky) with a hole cut in it above my head. i sit in there with the new overalls and a new helmet that has paint on it...gotta hold it a specific way so the blue men can grab it right. so after sitting in there a little while, i get rolled out onstage... kinda disorienting, i thought i was going sideways so the front was already facing the audience, but then i made a turn, so that was disorienting. it was neat cuz while i was in the box, the blue men kinda tapped on the box cuz they knew who i was. anyway, after the box stopped, it got pretty bright all of a sudden.. big spotlight on the jello above me i guess. well, anyway, i just kinda stuck my head up into it while the blue men wiggled it around a bit. kinda felt weird. a few "wiggles" in, i felt this big slap on top of the jello, which of course went through to my head.. i'm told Anthony did that... so next thing i know i see this blue hand reachihng at my face in the bright orange goo, and then bam! theres the audience,and the little shower cap that was on my head magically vanished. i got out of the box, saluted between two blue men (i believe russell on my left, anthony on my right. anthony gave my had a squeeze as to say "good job" (kinda how russell did leading me off stage... only that was a "good luck" squeeze)... soon after, i saw my beautiful creation wheeled out next to us, one more salute, then off i walked. i heard many "good job"'s along the way up the stairs, and was recieved with even more from the paper performers & (of course) the big fan meet group... i then changed back into my shoes, out of the jumpsuit, and was given a moist-nap.... end spoiler...
where was I? oh yes, so upon returning home, i desperatly wanted to inform someone of my fun filled evening, however the first person i found only shot me down saying they had a better evening, then proceeded to tell me about it. it didn't really seem like it would have been fun for me, but i respect that ths individual definatly enjoyed their evening, but mine was more well suited for me than theirs was. being brushed off like that didn't really help my headache either.
