It's the holiday season!

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Tony and I went to Vickie's; the food was actually really good, which surprised me. I was proud of myself; I had one helping of each dish I ate, and didn't go back for more. I ate one piece of French Silk chocolate pie, and declined the pumpkin pie. I did really well. Tony has to work, so he can't go with me to Grandma's this afternoon, or to Dad's tomorrow.

We got our Christmas tree completely up Thursday evening. We were planning just to get it together and lit, but we ended up putting the ornaments on it as well. I got my first Christmas present! Wednesday, Tony's parents were over, and we were talking about getting the tree up, when Bill made a good point. My gift from them is new blinds in the living room, and he realized that we needed to get them up before we put up the tree. Sooooo, out we went to Lowe's and got the blinds, came home, and put them up. I LOVE THEM!!!!! The old ones were some kind of fabric, and hung to the floor on both windows. The new blinds are hard vinyl, and only go a couple inches below each window. IT'S GREAT!

Buster is doing pretty well with the decorations so far. We've had to get him out of the tree a couple times, and he's knocked off a couple ornaments, but overall I'm pleased with how he's doing. Poor guy, we took him to the vet on Monday to get neutered and declawed (front only). Now the vet keeps them for two nights; the day after the surgery, they keep his paws bandaged, and monitor him the second day to see how he does when they remove the bandages. There've been a couple times when he's jumped onto something that he would sink his claws into before, and he's slid down, but he's doing better. I'm hoping he'll start to calm down a little bit since he's been neutered; so far, he's as fiesty as ever. I've been calling him my little wildcat.

I am so lucky; I've got a great husband, a beautiful home, and the best cats ever! It truly has been a great Thanksgiving; I've been blessed with so much! My family is wonderful, I've got a few close friends, and I love what I do at work. My occupational situation has improved; now if only Tony's will do the same.

I hope everyone feels as lucky as I feel right now!! Until the next time...
