I’m back and I can’t say anything but that my weekend was absolutely brilliant. Fucking fantastic. Thomas is a fucking rockstar. Maybe I’m overreacting and perhaps it’s because I haven’t seen “the boys” in over half a year, but Thomas nearly exploded o stage, and I can’t believe this was the last time I’m going to see them this year…
This was the last concert in “summer” and all the concerts in December are impossible to manage. If I don’t lose my job, that is. But if I do, I won’t have the money to afford going to any concert anyways. Well… but that’s another store… I’m sure at least some of you are curious about how the trip went ;-) and So I think, as always, I’ll start at the beginning.
My night from Friday to Saturday was VERY short… Went to bed around 11.30 p.m. (silly me *lol*) and got up at 3.30 a.m. - so just 4 hours of sleep. I got ready, and - as always - went to train station Wiener Neustadt and from there to Vienna, from where the train would start at 06.40 a.m.
I met up with Monika and Manu, who I know from the last Thomas concerts in Cologne and Ulm. We bought something to eat and to drink and then went to our train - which was already on it’s platform. Because we had reservations, it wasn’t a problem to find a place to sit down either.
During the train ride I tried to sleep at least a bit, but because it was very loud, it was nearly impossible. I also got very bad stomach cramps because of my menstruation and searched for my pills and didn’t find them first. I nearly started panicking, but lucky for me I finally found them when I looked again. And they worked soon, so I felt better very soon :-)
We arrived in Würzburg punctual at 12.30 and at the trainstation we coincidently met 2 other Thomas Fans Monika knew from other concerts and lucky for us they knew where we had to go to find the stage. Since it was not THIS far away, we decided to go by food.
On our way the girls also told us, that there were already about 50 fans waiting, some of them since 8 a.m. I’m really crazy for Thomas and the boy, especially one of them (*winks*), but I wouldn’t want to stand in front of the stage for about 14 hours, just to be in the first row. But everyone has decide that for himself… that’s no offense or something like that ;-) And it’s not my business… and of course it’s okay for me. Just nothing *I* personally would do, to be honest :-)
When we arrived in front of the stage around 1 p.m. I first noticed how small it was and the first 2 or 3 rows were already “taken”. At least in the middle part.
Monika, Manu and Martina (Martina joined our train ride in St. Pölten - I’m sorry, I forgot to mention that before!) decided to go to the right side of the stage, and I myself stayed on the left side ;-) Just a minute later Bonny entered the stage, and then Daniel, Sebastian, Torsten and also Daniel came on the stage to make a soundcheck. I nearly got a heart attack, because I didn’t expect that at all… I didn’t expect to see ANY of them THIS soon. Plus: Sebastian was standing directly in my view, and - oh my god - he looked SO gorgeous in this grey sweater and the tight jeans… *blushes* I couldn’t stop myself from staring at him nearly the whole time. At whenever he looked back at me, I looked away automatically, because I didn’t want him to know that I was “observing” him nearly non-stop *lol* I know I’m crazy, but it made me kinda nervous to see him looking at me, smiling at me and I asked myself if he recognized me there. I mean, it was over half a year ago, since I last saw them.
I thought “only” the boys from the band would make a soundcheck but a few minutes later, Thomas also entered the stage and he was in such a good mood, was joking around and behaving like a little boy when he noticed this twirling stool on the stage. It was SO funny watching him and even the soundcheck turned out to be a little concert itself. I mean, they were on stage for around an hour, and singing 5 or 6 songs (dunno anymore!) and I didn’t think it could get much better. I already WAS very satisfied.
After the soundcheck Thomas and the boys left the stage on the left side and stayed there - a little behind, at first eating, and then Thomas started to sign autographs and post for pictures together with fans. He was not even a meter away from me for a few minutes and I didn’t even notice him standing there, because I only had eyes for Sebastian *blushes*
I could have let Thomas sign my Thomas/Fady bag I had with me, or take a picture with him, that was the perfect chance, but I let it pass, because with the view at Sebastian, it was so “unimportant” to stand next to Thomas *looooooooool* God, that’s SO crazy… I have to laugh even writing this, but it’s true *lol*
Since I didn’t want to just stand there and watch him (again), and I also had this present for him (I showed you pictures before :P) in my hands and wanted him to get it, I went to one of the security men around and told him, to give it to “the man in the grey sweater”, and he looked at me “Really? The man in grey?” (I think he thought I wanted to give it to Thomas :P), but when I told him “yes, really, the man in grey) he nodded and went on his way :P
I could have screamed Sebastian’s name, because he was not THIS far away, but I was too shy and I think, not brave enough… but maybe it was better this way :P
The security man gave it to Sebastian and Sebastian smiled and asked him from who this is. There were a few other girls around me too, so the security men “just” pointed in our direction and all of sudden Sebastian walked in our direction, asking who he has to thank for this present and I (very quiet) answered “It’s from me”. He smiled and said “Thank you, Katrin!”
I think, my heart stopped beating for a moment and I couldn’t believe my ears. I couldn’t believe, he STILL knew my name. I mean, he meets a lot of girls at every single of Thomas’ concerts and still remembers ME? One of… I don’t know… hundreds? Maybe more?
I asked him: “You remember me?” and he answered “Of course I do. I remember a lot.” And then he excused for not answering my Myspace messages, but that he gets lots of messages and that I should not think, he doesn’t read them - because he does. Isn’t that absolutely irresistible? ;-) I mean, I didn’t expect him to answer anyways and there is NOTHING to be sorry for.
The girl next to me all of sudden asked Sebastian for a picture with him and then me, if I can take the picture, and of course he said yes, so I did. And in this moment, I also took my chance and let her take a picture of Sebastian and me afterwards ;-) And I think, it looks pretty good *lol* I should always let strangers take the pictures. They turn out to be really good.
Well… Then I remembered the picture of Sebastian and me taken in Ulm and took it out of my back, asked him to sign it. He looked at it, asking “this was in Ulm, wasn’t it?” and once more I was very surprised he remembered so well… I just nodded. When he signed he asked “IT was Katrin without H, right?” and I nodded again, just had to smile and said: “You remember a lot” and he simply commented “I told you so” and grinned at me *lol*
Then I asked him, if he could get Bonny from behind. Bonny was still where Sebastian was before, and of course Sebastian did me the favour. I was able to let Bonny sign my picture either (also the one taken in Ulm), only he didn’t know where this was anymore *lol* He looked at the picture and asked me, where it was taken and I told him “In Ulm, I was nearly laying on this desk”, and he smiled at me and said “ah, right”, and then signed :-) I also took a picture with him, and really, I felt like I’m in heaven ;-)
I turned to Sebastian again afterwards, telling him, that I hope he’ll like the present and he told me he will take a closer look as soon as he has the time, and then he went backwards again, and I had to sit down *lol* I was shivering like WOAH and I thought my heart wanted to jump out of my body every moment…
My day already WAS perfect. Could it get any better? Yes, it could ;-)
After this “moments” Monika, Manu, Martina and me went to an underground garage with another girl who had her car parked there, and she allowed us to put the things we won’t need there, which we did… On our way to the garage we met a group of other Thomas fans - Together with Jenni, Thomas’ girlfriend… I can tell you, I was pretty in a “bubble”, because I didn’t even notice her (same with Thomas before :P) and when we went on to the garage Monika said “What was Jenni doing with this fans” and I looked at her stunned “Jenni? Thomas’ Jenni?” and she said “of course, who else?” *looool* God, I don’t know what Sebastian did to me, but he did a great job :P After putting our things in the car, we went back to stage and there were even more people there than before.
We decided, to stay there from now on… it was about 3 p.m. and again, Monika, Martina and Manu decided to stay right, but this time I decided to stay in the middle… I met 2 fans from Bayreuth, who I also know from a former concert (The Ulm one) and we talked a lot to kill time…
There was already program on stage, some singers performing, but we all weren’t really interested in them… I felt kinda sorry for them *lol*
Because no one wanted to stay THIS long after a while the first 5 or 6 rows (I was in the maybe 4th now) decided to sit down… me too, so we sat there sitting and just talking and listening to the music on stage… I also went to the toilet and bought something to eat after a while, during one of the girls from Bayreuth was taking care of my bag :-)
Around 5 it was already REALLY full and I couldn’t even see the end of the rows. I got a SMS from Lisa from FADY FORUM (she’s really Fady Fan, but she was curious and so she decided to come to the Thomas concert, because it was only 20 kilometers from her hometown ;-)), that she’s on her way and around 5.30 she was finally there and we find each other… I asked the 2 girls from Bayreuth if it’s okay, that she stays with me there too, or if I should go “back” with her a few rows, but since they said it’s okay, I brought Lisa with me in the I guess 4th row… :-)
Around 6 the “real action” started and there was a band called TANZKINDER, and it was the first “band” I REALLY noticed… I dunno who was there before, but around 6 I finally decided to get up and stay for the rest of the evening ;-)
After “Tanzkinder” and a little break there came this Michael Jackson Double - Damien Jackson - they said before, how similar he is to Michael and how much he looks alike him… okay… I don’t think, he REALLY did, but he wasn’t bad… He performed (it was PLAYBACK!!!) the greatest hits of Michael, like Thriller, Bad, Billie Jean, Black or White and so on, and from time to time took kids from in front of the stage (there were a few meters for the kids, so that they didn’t have to be in the crowd), and danced with them… it was really okay and some of the kids danced really well either ;-)
After Damien Jackson there was again a little break and then Sascha Lien, the main actor of the Musical “WE WILL ROCK YOU” in Germany entered the stage for a little soundcheck and then he presented songs from his 2nd album… his new one, always with the “hint” that the CD is buyable on the sales booth…
To be honest? I don’t think ROCK Music REALLY fits his voice and I didn’t like it very much… but the 2 slower songs were the best… in my opinion… 2 sad lovesongs, but I won’t become a fan of his, that’s for sure ;-)
Then the part I was most afraid of began… HOLGER GÖPFERT… this man is CRUEL… my ears still hurt from the songs he sang SO wrong… it was REALLY awful… he was in German Idol 2009 - together with Benny and Daniel - and from the beginning I thought, he doesn’t belong there, because he just CAN’T sing… and he proved this very well… OUTCH… I could barely take it and tried to cover my ears for a while… it was SO bad… Really, some might say that from Benny too… but that’s NO comparison with Holger… it’s not that I hate him or something like that… I feel sorry, that he had to be on stage, not really knowing what he was doing and singing SO wrong…
I was glad when it was over… really!
And then the “actual show” would start… THOMAS GODOJ… but before they had to rebuild the stage… kinda… and made another “soundcheck”… but not the boys, some technics… and it took about an hour O__O I just asked myself, what for the boys did the soundcheck before… at 1 p.m. That was totally senseless… but I loved every single minute of this “useless soundcheck” anyways :P
Well… it was about 9.30 when Thomas and the boys FINALLY entered the stage and like I wrote before: Thomas nearly EXPLODED on stage… I can’t put this into words, but this was maybe the BEST concert I’ve ever was from Thomas… he was SO great… and everyone was singing and dancing and jumping and all the hands were in the air, whenever he wanted it, and it was just SO great…
He sang his “usual” songs, and I really noticed how much I missed this… how much I missed him and the boys… He is just “another person” when he’s on stage, he IS a star, and I don’t think he has to be concerned for his career, even if he IS… but the people love him, and I’m sure, he convinced lots of “non-Thomas-Fans” that he’s a good musician during this performance…
This was a festival, so of course there weren’t ONLY Thomas fans there ;-)
During one of the songs (I think it was “Helden gesucht”) he went down the stage, crawled on the shutoff, and was VERY close to the fans, even let THEM sing some of the song passages :-)
He sang:
* Morning Sun * Not the only one * Plan A * Liebe zur Sonne * Helden gesucht* Alles was nicht existiert * I don’t feel the same * Autopilot * Explosion * Für immer * Love is you * Urke * Flüchtig * (Let it be)
When he sang his last song - I think it was “Helden gesucht” - he and his Band left the stage, but of course the fans wanted a conclusion and then they all came back once more… I don’t know anymore what was the first song, but then he went to Daniel (the keyboarder) and said “so, I’m going to Daniel now” and all of the fans started singing HAPPY BIRTHDAY, because it was Daniels birthday… he was very touched and said “thank you” and then Thomas and then the people all screamed NICHT ALLEIN, NICHT ALLEIN, that’s Thomas’ New song, but he started to sing LET IT BE… the first few parts of the song, then he stopped and all of sudden “jumped into” NICHT ALLEIN *lol*
Really, EVERYONE was jumping and dancing and screaming and it was SO great… he NEVER before performed this song live, so it was VERY special…
He also talked about his video before, which will be filmed on Tuesday in Recklinghausen and explained, why he wanted it to be in Recklinghausen, because it’s his hometown and he loves this “city” and so on… :-)
So… after “Nicht allein” they finally left the stage for good… Thomas himself came back once to take a bow in all directions and then he was gone too :-)
And then there was a REALLY crowd and it was difficult to “get away” from in front of the stage, because all people tried to get away the same time *lol* But finally Lisa and I made it and sat down near to the exit, because I had to wait for “my girls”… and we talked a while and it was just nice to meet her again :-) I met her once after a Fady concert, and now again ;-)
Thomas and the boys didn’t come out after the concert and some of the fans were a bit “pissed” because of that, but for me it was okay… I heard, they wanted to celebrate Daniels birthday and Bär Läsker (their manager) had birthday on the same day and so on, and like I said, for me it wasn’t really a problem… I got everything I wanted :-) Even if that might sound a bit egoistic ;-)
After a while, Manu, Monika and Martina finally came out too, and I said good-bye to Lisa - taking a picture before - and after a while of talking to Monika, Manu and Martina we decided to go too…
We went to the underground garage to the car and the girl who was the owner of the car told us, she would bring us to the girl we would stay overnight *lol* it was just the next village but we needed more than 1 hour to get there, because we were SO lost out there *lol* We giggled a lot even if we all were very tired but it was funny :-)
We went to bed around 2 and got up at 6 because our train would go at 7.34 and so it was a short night too :D
But it was WORTH it… it was worth every single minute of it ;-)
I arrived at home about 2 hours ago, and I’m still tired as hell, but I won’t go to bed until 10 or something like that… and if I’m lucky, I’m going to see Daniel Schuhmacher tomorrow, we’ll see :-)
So… it was a wonderful day and I can’t wait to see the boys again :)
