The Duck Report - an unexpected return
A brief update, but a happy one, from the hinterland.
Duck Report 61 3rd November 2021
All the puppies are gone and I am suffering from puppy withdrawal. I shall just have to look forward to another litter maybe next year. (blythe note: OMG YAY!)
Great news this morning: Tyke is back!! She has suddenly appeared after well over a month and she is in good condition so wherever she was she was eating well. She is neutered so I cannot imagine where she has been. It is too bad they cannot talk. (blythe note: this is so CAT I can't even...)
This weekend Eric and Paulis are coming over to cook, we are planning on tourtiere and mincemeat. Mary has just sent me her mincemeat recipe which was her grandmothers, and of course I have Michael’s mother’s recipe for tourtiere. I think I may spice them both up a little.

Our cooking weekend was wonderful and everything turned out well. I think the mincemeat could have less sugar in future but it was way better than bought. (blythe note: *is waiting impatiently for mincemeat tarts*)
I am having sowing machine problems. I have not used it for some time and when I started it, it was very slow. I thought it was the foot pedal, so found a store which purported to repair sewing machines and ordered a new foot pedal. It took 2 weeks to arrive and was not correct, so I did what I should have done initially and went to Craft Village who supplied me with a leg peddle. I just installed the same and guess what, the machine is still slow. So now the machine will have to go in for repair. (blythe note: that machine is over 50 years old. Just sayin'.)
Monday night is the first gardening club meeting which is live and they have asked for something to sell for a dollar. I made a small wreath with things found around the farm.
