reading this makes me feel like a complete slacker, like what am I doing with my days??? why don't I clean up the brush in my yard and rake out last years leaves at the very least. Maybe vacumm. Who knows. What's my excuse for not making syrup? building a chicken coop?

LOL! Mum's hard to live up to - I know! She's just very practical and hates to waste energy. My Dad's a total slacker though.

I called her last week and she declared "WE HAVE PIGS!", to which I responded "Do you know anything about keeping pigs?" and she said "No, but I didn't know anything about keeping sheep or ducks or chickens and they're all still alive, so...". That's Mum in a nutshell - she just tries things.
