Munro Books Given To Longtime Employees

Jul 10, 2014 12:19

Jim Munro, owner of Munro Books in Victoria B.C. has decided to give his book store business to 4 employees to run when he retires in 2 months. He's been a bookseller for 50 years and has survived the advent of Chapters and online sales/e-books. His view was that without his staff, his book store wouldn't have survived all these years.

Frankly, this is one of the best things I've read in a long time. The man obviously loves books and bookselling, and he also loves his community and the people who helped him have such a successful business. We could use with a few more Jim Munros out there.

stories from the far side, linkity-link-link, nicer places than here, the element of awesomite, fabulousity, books, news, book stores
