Seriously, Nothing's Getting Done Today. You Should All Go Home.
Okay, so it's 12:30 and things have failed to coalesce for Monday thus far. Torontonians have an excuse: the Leafs pulled it out of the fire last night against Boston and sent the semi-final playoffs to a decisive game 7 TONIGHT. Basically, the GTA has jointly decided to take today off in preparation. So if you're in the neighborhood tonight and, say, feel like indulging in a little grand theft auto or some such illegal activity, after 7:30 p.m. should be prime time for you.
The weekend was weirdly successful: I saw Iron Man 3 (which was crazystupidfun), managed to buy two more pairs of jeans that actually fit and do not require hemming, and wrote a lot. My love_bingo card is half a story away from having a completed line (YAY!). And it includes an original piece of fiction! My excitement is extremely unladylike. My Mum is good (and very happy that I haven't written her off after luring us to the farm to split and stack 6 cords of wood 2 weeks ago), and my in-laws have informed us that they are giving us money for no other reason than they feel like it. We're gonna buy that new tv that we've been talking about like a treasured fairy tale for the last 3 years. The dog has learned to BAMF! We are concerned about what's she's been getting up to while we're away at work with such a skill (she suddenly appeared under the bed - which is blocked off by big, insurmountable, heavy things - and scared the crap out of me while I was folding laundry on Saturday night. *note to self: clip the dog's toenails...). Now, I just have to get on top of my illustration commitments. There's another claim that I have to make this week so my free time is gonna get really restricted really fast.
In totally unrelated news, Bowie's latest Sigismondi video is several shades of awesome (and COMPLETELY UN-WORK SAFE. I'm not even kidding - don't click on it until you get home, and if you are Catholic, don't even bother). Gary Oldman, Marion Cotillard, debauched priests, savior singers, blood, stigmata, humor - what more do you want?
