Because if yer only gonna have 1 day off, make it a doozy

I just finished up a "brunch" meeting with CB (she's helping me apply for a bank loan *fingers crossed*) and I am reminded that I am surrounded by very cool, competent people. Thank gawd. CB always makes me feel like I'm in control of my life - I love that, because I'm so clearly not. But if everything works out (I'll find out later on this week), it'll really improve my debt situation and help me sock away much more moola for retirement, taxes and the mythical house that I plan on building someday. *sigh* It's good to have friends who are smarter than you are....

So, in the spirit of "right on! I feel AWESOME today", I hunted around the intarwebs to find some things that make me smile foolishly. (all images are courtesy of http://www.newfilmdimension.com )

From the new (unnamed) X-Files movie. Scully looks worried, doesn't she? She's TOTALLY copping my hair style too...

A still from the upcoming Dark Knight movie. Angsty Batman (lovely Christian Bale) and some undead Heath Ledger action as well. (is it still too soon for Heath jokes?)

I'm not an Ironman fan at all but this film looks pretty promising. If it all tanks spectacularly, at least the suit looks great. It'll be like the second Fantastic Four film: just awful except for the Silver Surfer bits.

Finally, Katee Sackhoff (a.k.a. my girlfriend Starbuck from BSG) looking almost unrecognizably hot for a recent photo shoot. I shall weep bitter tears when BSG ends later on this year...

Oh, and the megatrash a trons recycling bins scenario continues... The gollum finally lost her nut over the bins which are sitting in the front yard like a very tacky piece of free-form corporate art and called the city. It turns out that they are not interested in exchanging the bins for smaller ones until they have completed delivering their current allotment. They told her to call back in a month, maybe two (as if THAT's gonna happen). So, she left a us a message saying that she "cannot have them in the front yard" (R. is so right about her having a tone of voice that actively discourages people from helping her...), and wanted US to arrange to drag them thru the first floor apartment so that they could be stored in the back yard. MB called her back and said that we weren't going to be around this weekend (not a lie, really) and to call the first floor tenant directly, as she could just as easily help her with her bins issue as we could. Personally, I think that the gollum is just gonna have to suck it up as I don't think that the bins will fit thru the first floor apartment doorway, this whole building having been made by and for dwarfs. I haven't taken a measuring tape to them, but I'm fairly good at eyeballing this stuff....
