Skirt is completed

After cutting apart four skirts ( much to my mom's horror) and after quite a bit of wrestling with my sister/mom's sewing machine (almost four hours of sewing last night alone), I have managed to complete the skirt for my post-apocalyptic costume.

The skirt is rather heavy, due to the amount of material on it, but I'm rather happy with it -- though I may make a few minor modifications involving the use of scissors.

Now I just need to finish up the top and decide on what accessories I may need to buy. I've already cut two tee-shirts up into rather cool looking tank tops (for layering), to which I will make some slashes and such. I'm reluctant to begin on that in case the cutting goes astray, which would force me to buy two new tee shirts and start all over.

I also have another piece of material to cut up for an arm band. So definitely more work to do on this, but it's almost complete. (^_^)

The only disappointment on this whole thing (especially after all the work I've put into the costume) is that my sister has opted not to go out on the Saturday before Halloween. So my main party plans have fallen through. Boo.

I'm sure I'll be able to finagle some plans together, though, as I have other sibling and friends who are going out. I also have a couple of different days that I can wear the costume on. So the work won't go to waste.
