Last week, I linked to Sandra Mitchell's blog post "Free Books Aren't Free, which describes how book pirating has had an effect on her career as a writer.
I just want to point out that jimhines has written a response to her post, noting that Mitchell's numbers are exaggerated, but also emphasizing that book piracy is stealing and does have an effect on the author -- just not as much as Mitchell suggests. It's an interesting a perhaps more balanced counterpoint to the discussion and definitely worth a read.
