TV Meme (20-25/30)
My weekend and Fourth of July was spent sitting by the lake, drinking beers, and no where near a computer, which was pretty fantastic. (I didn't even touch my cell phone all weekend!) So that, combined with a couple days of laziness as I readjusted to the grind, means I'm somewhat behind on this whole TV meme thing. I've got many days to catch up on, so my answers are going to be brief.
Day 20 - Favorite kiss
I can't really say that I have a favorite kiss. I don't really think to myself, oooooh, yay, best kiss ever, when I'm watching a show. Though I suppose the kiss between Dr. Brennan and Agent Booth in a recent episode of Bones would count, but that's only because it was so damn built up over the last several seasons.
Day 21 - Favorite ship
I'm not fully sure what this question is meaning (maybe I copied it wrong and it's meant to say relationship), so I'm going to take it literally and say the spaceship Serenity from Firefly. I dig the design of that ship with the engines on either side, though what I really love is how all the people inside have made it their home and not just a vehicle to get from place to place.
Day 22 - Favorite series finale
Season 4 of Buffy the Vampire Slayer. I loved "Restless." It was such an unusual and creative way to end a season. A full episode dream sequence, which reveals and reflects the characters' fears and desires, and done in such a way that it really feels like a dream with all the logical illogic that that entails? Awesome.
Day 23 - Most annoying character
Andrew from the three nerds who tried to take over Sunnydale in season 6 of Buffy, though he's most annoying in season 7. Actually all the nerds were annoying, but Andrew was especially so. I cringed every time he came on screen. He made watching Buffy really, really difficult.
Day 24 - Best quote
Pretty much all of Joss Whedon's stuff is ripe with excellent quotes, but I'm going to go with this one from Firefly, because it pops into my head from time to time.
Zoe: Sir, we don't want to deal with Patience again.
Mal: Why not?
Zoe: She shot you.
Mal: Well, yeah, she did a bit.
. . .
Mal: Did you send word to Patience?
Wash: Yeah, ain't heard back yet. Didn't she shoot you one time?
Mal: Everyone's makin' a fuss!
At some point, Mal has a conversation with Patience. When the call ends, he says, "I do believe that woman is aiming to shoot me again." (Or something really close to that.) Anyway. I love that line. It's a great line.
Day 25 - A show you plan on watching (old or new)
Battlestar Galactica. I've been hearing friends tell me about this for ages, about how great it is, how it's a must see. I even had one friend get mad at me when I told him I hadn't watched it yet. The trailers just never appealed to me, but I think I would probably like it if I ever got around to it. It just hasn't been high on my priorities of things to watch. But to all those friends getting ready to yell at me for missing out, I'll get around to it. Eventually. I promise.
