My toes are cold...

I am more and more convinced I've caught a cold.  Hmph.  Lots of orange juice and such for me today.

I've decided that grouting can wait until tomorrow.  Today will be cleaning the downstairs (or at least the living room and kitchen) and maybe doing a little writing.  I've effectively lazed the morning away sitting here online watching old cartoons (Rescue Rangers and Animaniacs), reading comics, etc.

I continue to feel slightly apprehensive about my failure to find ways of making friends in the town I live in.  I intend to be here for the next two years and I'm eventually going to need some social contact outside of work.  I have SWG, which is great for inspiration and a chat once a week, but many of the members are much older than me and at very different points in their lives.  I'd really like to meet some people close by who are in their 20s or 30s and enjoy some of the same things I do.  I actually think Kate could benefit from it as well as most of her friends live in other parts of the UK.  Speaking of which, her friends have been dreams about welcoming me into their circle.  I feel like I DO have friends in the UK, just not close enough to randomly meet for a drink or to suddenly go to a show with.

I've never been good at this.  I've always met one or two people in school, found I got along, and merged into an already existing network of friends.  It happened in high school and it happened at WWU.  And I love those people.  I can't wait to see many of them when I go home over the holidays.  Regardless, I have no idea how to go about meeting people when you are no longer in an educational institution.  It perplexes me...
