At least I didn't stay gloomy for long.

So I've heard back from both my London interviews and I didn't get either of the jobs...

...darn.

I was pretty disappointed, particularly about the first one.  Still am, really.  However, I've got a wonderful girlfriend and a wonderful mom, both of whom assured me that I'm a good person who will eventually get a job I want.  So I'm not feeling as down as I might at this point.

I've found a very part-time and low-paying gig to apply for in Slough, but after that application I'm going to have to call it quits until I move because I need to focus on my dissertation.

So far I have about 1800 words written and 12 books checked out from the library.  I've also done some reading this evening about classification and had a really excellent and informative discussion with Mom about education and learning.  I have a plan and I have lots and lots of time over the next few weeks, so here's hoping.  The subject is really interesting and I'm finding all sorts of connections to what I did in Romania, so that's good.  Still hard to motivate myself to do the work though.

Let's see... other news... I visited Kate this week and helped a tiny bit with the bathroom (began building some boxing around the plumbing).  I'll be moving there on the 4th.  My reaction when I think about that is a combination of "scary!" and "I can't wait!".  I hate being away from her...

Anyhoo, this was mostly just a quick update.  I need to go make dinner and then try to get 200 more words on difference typed before I go to bed.
