To help us understand the thought processes behind Democrats' votes...
To help us understand the thought processes behind the person who wrote this...a translation :D

I voted Democrat because I'm way too irresponsible to own a gun, and I know that my local police are all I need to protect me from murderers and thieves.
Translation: I don't understand the difference between responsible gun ownership laws, and laws that take my guns away illegally. Either that, or I am afraid that I may not qualify to own my guns because of my extreme and debilitating paranoia.

I voted Democrat because I love the fact that I can now marry whatever I want. I've decided to marry my horse.
Translation: I think gay people are less than animals. I believe that I am entitled to benefits simply by being the dominant group, and that anyone like me is less deserving of human rights. I also don't understand the difference between consenting adults and animals unable to consent.

I voted Democrat because I believe oil companies' profits of 4% on a gallon of gas are obscene, but the government taxing the same gallon of gas at 15% isn't.
Translation: I don't believe in roads, public utilities and public education. I don't see the difference between rich people taking more for themselves, and the entire community getting things that everyone needs. Since I'm selfish anyway, this contradiction doesn't bother me.

I voted Democrat because I believe the government will do a better job of spending the money I earn than I would.
Translation: I'm selfish and don't want to help anyone else.

I voted Democrat because freedom of speech is fine as long as nobody is offended by it.
Translation: I want to be racist, sexist, homophobic and privileged without consequences. Anyone like me isn't really a person anyway.

I voted Democrat because, when we pull out of Iraq , I trust that the bad guys will stop what they're doing because they now think we're good people.
Translation: I don't care how many people die, as long as they are brown and Muslim.

I voted Democrat because I believe that people who can't tell us if it will rain on Friday CAN tell us that the polar ice caps will melt away in ten years if I don't start driving a Prius.
Translation: I think all forms of science are the same, and that scientists actually form a secret society, hell-bent on taking away my God-Given American right to drive the biggest, ugliest gas guzzler I can, thereby confirming my status as a ginourmous asshole. I also think that the Earth is only 6000 years old and that dinosaur bones were planted by scientists looking for publicity.

I voted Democrat because I'm not concerned about the slaughter of millions of babies so long as we keep all death row inmates alive.
Translation: Women controlling their reproduction scares me, but I'm happy as long as we are killing brown people.

I voted Democrat because I believe that business should not be allowed to make profits for themselves. They need to break even and give the rest away to the government for redistribution as THEY see fit.
Translation: I did not pay attention in my high school economics class, and have no idea what the difference between economic systems are. I am, therefore, speaking out of my anus.

I voted Democrat because I believe liberal judges need to rewrite the Constitution every few days to suit some fringe kooks who would NEVER get their agendas past the voters.
Translation: I also have no clue how our system is supposed to work, but anything that means that I have to start seeing women, queers, racial minorities or the disabled as people with full rights makes me mad.

I voted Democrat because my head is so firmly planted up my @#% that it's unlikely that I'll ever have another point of view.
Translation: Thinking outside my box of privilege is scary!

"A Liberal is a person who will give away everything they don't own"
- William F. Carling
Translation: I also don't understand what logical fallacies are, but here is a quote from some guy I agree with to make me look intellectual.
