Wacom Intuos3 SE 9x12 - Special Edition

so i've been seriously debating whether i want to get a wacom tablet. i see that many artist in general have one and use it vigorously withotu complaints. my question is, how long did it take to get use to looking at your monitor screen while drawing on the tablet. i just think its a little weird..

any comments or suggestions are greatly appreciated.
