Apparently teenaged girls love me

My neighbors run a foster group home for girls. These girls have created a steady flow of cat-sitters for when I'm out of town. Many of them love Malcolm more than they love a lot of people and the responsible ones among them know they'll be paid well for taking good care of my kids when I'm away. I've had more contact with this current crop of girls. Marty, my neighbor, has needed someone to watch the girls for a few hours here and there and I'm always happy to help when I can. Apparently the girls have taken a liking to me. I think some of that has to do with the fact that one of the girls is a fangirl-in-training. She'd borrowed 6th season of BtVS from a friend and was watching them the last time I was there. I mentioned that I had the first three seasons of Angel and I loaned them, along with Firefly, Serenity, Serenity, and Cube to her. She came over last night to return the Angel DVDs. I had forgotten that the end of third season has Angel chained inside a coffin and dumped to the bottom of the ocean. She is more than a little anxious to find out what happens next, which means I may have to break down and get S4 soon. They loved Cube so I offered to loan them Nothing. When I opened the DVD cabinet she saw my S&H DVDs and got excited because her dad always talks about the show and she was curious to see it. Before they left I had loaned her my S&H DVDs, Nothing, and 1S SGA since she said she liked the show but never got to see it since Marty and Paul don't have digital cable. I figure she's it's my responsibility to feed her fangirl soul. *g* Of course, I always loaned them Lady and the Tramp , which may not be that fannish, but I love that movie.

Anyway, Marty and her husband Paul have to be out of town from Wednesday Afternoon until late Thursday afternoon/early evening and when asked who they wanted them to ask first to stay with them all six of the girls voted for me. I'm so honored, even if it means I'm going to have to be responsible for six rather ornery teenagers for over 24 hours. Hopefully I can keep them entertained with fannish delights that will also keep me from dying of boredom. Hmmm. I think making them watch a full season of SGA while I'm there should be interesting. *g*
