Wow.

Dont really know where I can write about my thoughts other than here. My last entry which was private was pretty emotional and my words were so hateful to a certain person. After almost a year now, I have definitely come a long way from that moment. Its weird how certain things that happen in your life can seem so stressful and feel like its too much to handle.

its been almost a year since that last post and a LOT has changed. I made certain decisions that I will have to live with for the rest of my life. I take responsibility for all my actions. Im not so proud of all of them and I probably should have handled them differently than I did. I found that I fell into this deep, deep pit of emotional stress and baggage that only I can get myself out of. I'm working on it and this time I want to do it my own way at my own pace. I tend to dwell too much on the past and on past experiences, which is a bad idea because it makes me feel sorry for myself. Its almost as if I WANT to be sad. Sorry Negative Nancy party of ONE your table is ready! haha. Im still angry at myself for ignoring all the clear warning signs that told me to GET OUT, and get out quick. haha. Guess I wasnt listening to my lizzard brain so much, oops I watch too much dexter. But maybe it is because i had too much hope for this person, SUE ME.

Rather than dwelling on past experiences I need to look at them and understand the mistakes I made and not make them again. TRIAL AND ERROR baby. I guess that's what life is all about.

With all that being said Im on a new journey to improving myself. FITNESS. I started roughly about 6 weeks ago and Im really loving it. I gained inspiration from my brother who came back from being enlisted in the US Army. His friend showed him the ropes of lifting weights and getting fit. After a few weeks I saw how excited he was about going to the gym and getting fit. I wanted to give it a whirl also! For about 3 weeks I went with him to the gym and he showed me different exercises I could do (mostly weight lifting). He explained to me that compound movements were the best way to go when lifting weights. He taught me that proper form is EVERYTHING. Even if you can only do 5 pound dumb bell curls lol. (ME). He said no MATTER WHAT you HAVE to have proper form. It is so essential if you want to work out the correct muscles.

Since then I decided to do some research and came across a workout plan on bodybuilding.com that I have been following. Its the 12 week trainer by Jamie Eason. For the first month its all about the compound movement and getting to know how to use certain machines. Now im on the second month (or phase two)  which is  a little more rigorous and requires a 6 day split. The first week was pretty difficult! I am now on the second week, day 2 and I feel great. I can not wait to get my butt back in the gym and workout till I DIE. jk. Phase 2 also incorporates cardio. The first few days of cardio were GRUESOME. I swear I wanted to rip my eyelashes out as I was running on that EVIL treadmill. HOWEVER, by the third day I got the hang of it and ran for 30 minutes straight. Now i TOTALLY get it when you sadistic freaks would say "I LOVE running." You get this weird high! its great!

In the Jamie Eason workout plan she also stresses that if you want to get the proper results you NEED to eat CLEAN. I was guilty of not following the eat clean part of the workout plan, for the first month at least. Now that I am in phase two I am really trying to clean up my diet and be disciplined in my eating habits. Especially if I want those rock hard abs that i have only been able to dream of having! (lets make this dream a reality) Ive read so many articles and blogs about abs and how to gain them. The one thing they ALL stress the most is a proper diet or "abs start in the kitchen" as they would say. So here I am.... MEAL prepping... COOKING! haha what? rachel COOKING? Its a scary thought I KNOW. But hey, Mr. George Foreman helps make it really really EASY! The only thing I have to make sure I dont do is burn the food. The thing is pretty idiot proof.

On top of a proper diet I have also been using supplements. I read that getting results also requires the use of proper supplementation, which is in replacement of or in addition to what you're already consuming. Ive recently started taking a preworkout supplement called C4. I am taking this one because my dad was taking it. We both tried Jack 3D and agreed that Jack gives you a huge crash! (gosh jack is always doin me dirty!). C4 doesnt give us a crash. I feel as thought my body reacts to certain things the same way my dads does so I tend to follow his advice when it comes to supplements and things like that.

Ive seen very minimal progress after these past few weeks. However I am not letting that discourage me. The most progress Ive seen is my legs. They are getting more defined and I love it! two leg days is the best! Yesterday I decided to change up my cardio routine and run outside with my brother. Probably a bad idea because today I am experiencing very painful shin splints. I probably need a running shoe with better support for my normal arches. I did some research on that as well, and hopefully I can find a shoe that one give me those nasty shin splints anymore!

I guess that is all for now.

later!
