True Blood, Season 5 So Far
I haven't read the books recently and the tv series has pretty much veered off into quite a different plot development that I don't know what to expect and frankly, have no expectations for the show other that to enjoy it. So far, this season has proven to be quite exciting, although, watching each episode feels like listening to someone with ADHD try to tell a story.

Since practically every character is doing their own plot line, it's hard for the season to have a cohesive theme. So many paranormal creatures, side stories, locations etc....Faeries, Shifters, ifrit (sp?), were-wolves, vampires, brujos, paranormal hate groups. Everyone gets barely 10 minutes per episode. 0
I do love that we get little moments of "yay" and particularly memorable moments (not in any particular order, just as I think about them)
1. Alcide almost getting together with Sookie, whilst Eric and Bill watch voyeuristically from the window.
2. Eric and Bill off on an adventure of their own together, searching for Russell Edgington or else (makes slicing motion against throat with sound fx).
3. The Reverend Newlin is turned into such dorky vampire complete with Bill Cosby era sweaters.
4. Christopher Meloni as the Guardian and his shocking execution of the "kid" vamp.
5. The iStakes.
6. Eric and Pam's backstory gets explored and the parallel with Pam turning Tara.
7. Grossest scene is a tie when Tara tries to commit suicide via tanning bed versus watching Lafayette's sewn lips being opened at knife point... (eek) I'm sensitive to the lip stuff, it's almost as bad as watching someone get stabbed in the eye or a horror movie involving a dentist.
8. Godric makes a comeback as Eric's hallucination during that Lillith blood induced trip.
9. Love the cute baby wolf. I just love puppies.
10. Alcide's training scene with that wolf babe was particularly hot, especially when you can see drops of his sweat (real?) drop onto her face when they tussle in the barn.
11. Jason's dream sequence wearing a He-Man pajamas.
12. Arlene walking in on a naked Andy after he and Jason get booted from the faery club. ( and also Andy's butt getting posted on the web)
13. Sheriff Dearborn makes a splash with his hot tub lady.
14. Russell Edgington singing karaoke.
