Cruelty Free Lifestyle Expo, woo!

Oct 24, 2004 18:01

Yes, as the subject suggests, the Cruelty Free Lifestyle Expo was today and Emmy, Jesse, Monnie and I were there.

It was much good all round, with:
vegan cakes and slices and chocolate truffles
satay unchicken
a dude dressed as a giant battery hen and women in lettuce leaf bikinis
postcards with pictures of retired racing greyhounds butchered in an asian restaurant
alv vice-president Noah (who is an upside all in himself)
lots of lovely petitions to sign
all these cool vegan tshirts, like "Ronald says EAT DEATH!" and "Now I can look at you in peace- I don't eat you any more"

It was great. We ate too much because of the excess of vegan options, got lots of information with which to hit people who say that veganism is unhealthy (HA! We aren't the ones eating chicken menstruation and cow breast milk!), and signed said petitions, and grinned maniacally at Noah who was trying to take photos for the alv website (poor guy).
Then Emmy left because she for some inexplicable reason thinks that she should be studying before her exams, so Jesse and Monnie and I went to Lincraft to try to find iron on transfer stuff to make patches for our jeans out of the really cute "Lamb Chop" sticker, but Lincraft was crap and only had it in big roles which were too expensive and which we couldn't have put in the printer anyways. Stupid Lincraft. But we did run into Pat in Lincraft, which was fun.

But now I am going to force myself to do some drama.
