At Chris' request, I am writing an entry to discuss the horrible case of technophilia that we both have. It's rather scary at times, and is definitely not one of the more affordable issues to have in this modern world. This issue affects our lives every day in multiple areas. First is the area of home theater. Not only do we feel the need to spend much more money than we should have on a TV (granted, this happened over a year ago, but part of me still feels like I'm paying for it today), but we also have spent more money just on connection cables and speaker wires than most people invest in their entire system. Add to that the fact that we now have all three seventh generation home video game consoles (I got lucky last week and ended up forgetting to buy batteries at Target on Saturday. Normally this is not something that I would refer to as "getting lucky," but as a result, I went to Target on Sunday morning at 8:00, and saw a line at the eletronics counter. I walked over, and they had a stack of approximately 50-60 Wiis, so I ended up walking out with batteries and a Wii), a computer each, and two small Kias worth of CDs, DVDs, video games, and records, and I think you can see where our problems are. It really makes me worry about what would happen if I ever lost my job . . .
Segue.
We went to the Auto Show last week. It was pretty cool, as always. I got to sit in a lot of cars that I can't afford, and a bunch of cars that I can afford but wouldn't want to buy. I did sit in the 2007 BMW 335i coupe, which was quite nice. I'm thinking more and more that that will be the car that I'd like to purchase after I've had the MINI for a few more years. We'll see, though. I also liked the Suzuki SX4, which would be a much more practical and affordable car, but the frosted side of me really doesn't want practical.
For Chris, we've narrowed down the car search to the Mazda CX-7, the Toyota RAV4, and (possibly) the Subaru B9 Tribeca. So, it's nice to have a short-list of cars that we will test drive. That will definitely save us a lot of time when it comes time to actually test drive vehicles. Hopefully that will be happening within the next few months, but we'll have to see what happens with this whole GE transition thing.
I'm sure there's other stuff I should add, but since I'm at work, I will sign off and finish my lunch. I'd say that I'll update again soon, but I think that Zelda will be taking up a lot of my time over the next few weeks . . .
Cheers.
