Today I helped give a presentation in the monthly senior management meeting! I almost didn't think I'd end up doing it because there were a lot of last minute hiccups this morning and we were all so busy scrambling.
So anyway, later I got praised by a coworker I respect greatly and while I was in her cubicle, the Big Boss himself stopped over to tell me I did a good job! Okay, well, technically I work in his office so him walking two steps out to my coworker's cube isn't that big a deal, but still!
And then on my way out from work, I passed by one of the senior managers that I've only spoken to a couple times before (well, he also saw me presenting the same thing at the last local health & safety committee meeting too). He also told me that I did well, and jokingly said that if I keep it up, they might have to consider keeping me. When I responded, "Please do!" he said he'd put in a good word for me. Not that I think he'd really do that, but it made me awfully happy.
Also, when I saw him he addressed me with, "Hey smiley!" I don't know if it's my habit of smiling at everyone I recognize when I see them, or if it's because I grin stupidly all the time anyway, or if he just doesn't remember my name, but it was kind of funny.
God I've been sleeping so poorly and getting up exhausted in the mornings, but today made me feel better. =w=
