For my first entry of 2008...
For my first entry of the new year, I declare that my Tofu Legion™ has become even more Legion.
GUESS WHO BOUGHT TAKOYAKI TOFU PLUSH TODAY? Photos will come later, but now I have a perfect tofu plushie pyramid. ♥ Of course, this means if I buy more tofu, I'll need to reconfigure the army and consider building them a house but I have dreamed of obtaining Takoyaki Tofu since my first cubical plushie purchase and now it is mine and he is softer and squishier than all my other tofus and is love. *__*
Yes. So my first entry of 2008 involves squeeing about tofu plushies. Excellent way to start off the year, I must say.
Right now I'm listening to the 神鵰俠侶 [Return of the Condor Heroes] soundtrack. Me and my aunt just finished watching the series a couple days ago. Apart from epic failure at computer graphics in the show, it is very awesome and very true to the original story, from what I can tell and from what my aunt told me. I should really read the story for myself one day, but my Chinese is lame and reading romanized Chinese names makes me want to gouge out my eyes so it'll be hard. D:
ANYWAY, the point is, it is a good series. And the two main characters are played by really really really gorgeous people and I am madly in love with them because they're really really really gorgeous. *o* ♥ I could really squee for a long time about how beautiful they are. Honestly. And the locations they shoot at are so crazy gorgeous even if it's pretty obvious they had a massive fake flower budget and dozens of slaves to stick said fake flowers into the ground and there is so much I love about this show and the whole story in general ;_;
I don't know why I love 神鵰俠侶 so much, but I suppose it's because I've seen so many versions of it on television growing up so it's a familiar. And it's just a really good story which reminds me why I like being Chinese in a weird sort of love-hate way.
Most of the time I feel like strangulating all of the characters because they're all just so stupid and retarded in one way or another, but really, we all want to strangle someone we know for being an idiot at one point or another, right? And with the grand and epic exception of 郭芙 [Guo Fu] who is quite possibly the biggest waste of DNA and oxygen the world has ever seen and just thinking about her character makes me want to beat her face in, they still have more than enough redeeming qualities to make me love them anyway. :D
I could probably make a long post about what I love/hate about a lot of the characters in 神鵰俠侶, but I don't think anybody is really interested anyway, and I think my knowledge of the story is really too shallow to pass judgement. XD" SO I'LL SHUT UP NOW. Just. 神鵰俠侶. Such love. ;_; ♥
And this song! I really like it! Along with the opening theme. I kinda half want to try translating the lyrics, just because. But ack, simplified Chinese causing brain/eyes hurting. >_>; And the opening theme was half-ruined for me because my aunt insists upon trying to sing along. Sorry aunt, I know you can sing, but if you can't sing in a whistle register, please stop trying. @_@;
SPEAKING OF MUSIC IN THIS SHOW, I remember that they used one of Ayumi's songs (I can't remember which one but I could recognize it) somewhere. Well, not the song exactly, but they did an instrumental arrangement of it. Tis not on the soundtrack though. Hmm. Yes, I'll stop talking now. :x
In other recent news, I watched Enchanted and it was nice, I want to watch Sweeney Todd really bad, I am playing Zelda and I'm very bad at it, I played Guitar Hero for the first time and it's really awesome but I'm also very bad at it, I didn't get drunk last night but I had a glass of wine and I got complimented on my cooking, I'm not looking forward to school in a week because I know I'm in trouble, and I have to go make dinner now.
ETA: Also, I watched Toki wo Kakeru Shoujo/The Girl Who Leapt Through Time last night before the countdown. It was a good movie. :3
