Tonight was the worst night of poker I have ever played in. I was put at the table with Lacey, Asian Mike, and a bunch of other guys who raise 20x the big blind just because they get an ace. I knew I had to play tight and choose my hand to take down some money until the tables combined and real poker could start.
I look down at my cards and see pocket aces. This was the hand I had been waiting for. Two people in front of me who are very loose players raise 2,000. This early in the tournament, that is a lot of money. I figure I have both of them beat, so I reraise 7,000. Now, someone behind me calls me reraise, and then everyone else calls me as well.
The first person to raise had K 9 offsuit. The next person who called had AJ of diamonds, the last person to call has pocket jacks. So, the person with pocket jacks has 1 card left in the deck to help them. Besides a flush coming there is nothing i'm really worried about. A jack comes on the flop and I lose a lot of cash. I had more than these other people so I'm not out just yet.
The next hand I get AK. I raise for 2500, all I have left. The person who had pocket jacks calls me with a Q9 offsuit and someone else calls. He ended up mucking his cards so I don't know what he had, but the person who called caught a 9 on the turn and I didn't get anything.
