All:
I wanted to share with you a recent scare I had with Tabitha yesterday. Around 6:30 pm in the parking lot of Toys R Us, I was mugged. I was taking Tabitha out of the car in the parking lot (still daylight with people around in the
parking lot) and as I turned around, a man in a grey hooded sweatshirt and black jean pants came running towards me. He was was struggling to take my purse which he eventually got. Keys to house and car, wallet etc. While he was doing this, he pushed Tabitha down on the ground and once he got the purse, ran to the corner intersection
(away from the Century Theatres). There he had a silver car waiting for him for his get away. Two men tried to run after him to catch him but it was too late. And a few women ran up tome afterwards to lend me their cell phone and help me get a hold of the police. The man got away.
Luckily, Tabitha and I are ok. A little shaken up but no physical harm. THANK GOODNESS!
I share with you this story because of some key things the police shared with me. There have been muggings in parking lots in the San Jose/Campbell/Saratoga area. 15 minutes prior to us getting mugged, someone in the parking lot of Mitsuwa was mugged just like me. In addition, there have been some muggings in the back parking lots of Santana Row.
The police also told me that the best thing to do is to give these guys your purse. If they are willing to push down a 4 year old toddler, they have no remorse to do other things to you like knife you, beat you etc. Lastly, the police told me that women with children are targets. The suspects know that women won't leave their kids or fight them when they get mugged.
Please spread the word to as many families as you can around this area and caution them to be careful.
Jill
