This is a very nice backstory. You have Keller's personality and inner anguish down pat. Now, is this a stand alone or is it the opening to a longer story? You know I'm hoping that it's only the opening!

Thank you :)

It's a stand alone in the sense that there's nothing specific to come after, but it's kind of my basis for anything else I write about Keller as well.

Lovely insight into a character that's really becoming one of my favorites. Thanks for posting this!

I was amused by this. I have to ask is there any sign of Katie and Keller being friends in the show? I'm just wondering. Cause this was great. I really liked it. I still don't like Keller but I don't hate her as much anymore. At least I don't think I do.

That's a start, I suppose! There's not much sign of them being friends, no, but they seem like maybe they would be, to me, because they're both kind of shy in their own ways - I think they could bond.

ooo! I like your icon. It's so shiny.

Yeah I can see what you mean, they'd just have to meet first. I kind of like the idea of seeing the main characters interact with other people on Atlantis. You know them having other friends outside of the teams and main group. *suddenly envision a fic about Rodney's random group of friends he doesn't even know he has.* yeah that would crack me up.

And me - it seems like they must, but we hardly ever see them with anyone else, or get any hint that they do. Weird.

This was lovely. I loved the balance; she's nervous, serious and very dedicated to her job, but she likes treating the marines because they're pretty with their shirts off and she deliberately makes sure she's around when Ronon's going to be stripping (and, lets face it, who wouldn't?). Really beautiful characterisation. Great job!

Thank you!

I really love the idea of the infirmary staff seeing one of the perks of their job as frequently having attractive young men half-naked in their hospital :)

This was just *marvelous*. You nailed her characterization dead-on, including that undercurrent of steel that keeps her from being a push-over. Given how nervous she was about becoming CMO and going off-world, I can absolutely imagine her not jumping for joy at being asked to go to Atlantis. And yeah, I can't imagine asking Carson for contraceptives/MAP either.

Sometimes she indulged it in her quarters though, stomping in circles, and cursing scientists who thought they knew best (there were reasons she liked the Marines best, not all of which had to do with how pretty they looked when they were mildly injured and sitting around her infirmary shirtless).

Yes, doctors do sometimes have not-quite-as-professional reasons for their behavior. Shirtless Marines = yum! ;)

I guess there have to be some perks to working in Atlantis!
