I don't know where this came from; I sat down to work on the What Happens Next sequel, and wrote this instead. In my defence, it's WHN future fic, but that's about all it has to do with what I meant to be doing. Um,

Thanks! The Ronon/Kanaan/Teyla thing is one of the bits of the WHN sequel that I'm really looking forward to getting to - I imagine the three of them drawing together as the only Pegasus natives in the city, especially when John leaves, since he and Ronon are such good friends.
This is wonderfully done! So much history captured in a handful of sketches. I love the bit with Daniel and his absolute refusal to be involved, after Jack's death. (Yes, I am an angst junkie.) And Teyla and Ronon and Kanaan, and Ronon's willingness to step back, and Teyla's refusal to let him. And everyone's general reluctance to be part of the IOA's little show, but showing up anyway.

It's definitely odd to be having a ceremony without Jack - he's one of the founding members of the SGC. I didn't even realize he was going to be dead, literally until I wrote the line and went 'oh.' writing this story was an odd experience!
