I definitely didn’t see a man sneaking out of the infirmary, probably against doctor’s orders, or tell him that General O’Neill is in a meeting down that corridor and would totally turn the man I didn’t see in to the medical staff at a later date.
(and yes, please DVD-commentary for it, if you guess it right :))
That line's Cadman's, from Getting To Know You. Cadman and Lorne's first meeting, at least in my world, and a bit of an instant friendship bond. And also - though not till a bit later - a little bit of my obsession with non-UST male/female friendships.
I love your obsession with non-UST male/female friendships ;) You really write them so well and it's absolute fun to read them, in all aspects :) (it's why I love Getting To Know You so much :))
Getting To Know You is still one of my favourite of my own fics. I love their friendship, and I really don't write all that much happy fic, so this is a nice change :)
John doesn’t watch him leave, but he’s high enough up to watch the car wind away from him down their little country road, until it turns and disappears behind the trees.
This one I know, it's the first sequel to Never Going Home, Saturday Afternoon. When John's feeling lonely and abandoned and though it seemed like having Rodney there would make it all better, in fact it just changed the things that weren't working. And in my head this is an incredibly clear picture, with John up high and nothing there except Rodney driving away to the one thing John can't have any more.
Because in my world, even your happy ending doesn't get to be happy :)
