You know, maybe the fact that you haven't seen a single episode in your life is the reason why you like the reboot so much. I heard that a lot of die-hard fans consider the reboot to be badly executed and in some cases even blasphemy (but then again I'm a long-time Star Wars fan and I hated the majority of the prequels with a vengeance, so I can partly sympathize). I for my part actually found it pretty cool (cooler than the original Star Trek...) and I don't think you have to hand in your fan badge ;)

I think you're probably right - like with SG1, it seems like a lot of fans who've watched from the beginning aren't so keen on Cam because he replaced Jack, whereas I've never seen many Jack episodes, so I love Cam.

I guess it's weird to see your old, much-loved show messed with, and new people playing your favourite characters, so I'll stay over here, happy in my ignorance (and only a little frustrated that, although there are many episodes of Star Trek, there's only one film with the characters that I want to watch!)

Sure, it's not like reading your stories are a hardship! Also you might want to try some of the Star Trek films, if only for the lulz. They go back in time to save the whales and beat up punks and look for nuclear wessels!
