It's time. Whether it's official or not, Spring is here. I spent the day working from home, in the sun, on the back porch. It must have been 60+ today. Simply beautiful.
After work today, I threw on my running shoes, and went for a 3.25 mile run. I had to slow to walk a couple times to let my lungs catch up, but it did the whole loop in 34 minutes (for those considering doing the math, that's approximately 5.7 miles per hour). All in all, not bad for my first run of the season. I also walked the dog this same route a couple nights ago to plan it out. I am going to resume my personal pledge, that I started in the Fall, to run at least a mile a day. This should at least serve as a nice warm up for my cycling training.
While I would love to be biking right now, it looks like I will not be able to start on pedals until somewhere around April 1. Last night I dropped my bike off at the shop, and am now #9 in line for road tires, clip in pedals, and a general tune-up/idiot check. The shop will be closed for a week while the owner is enjoying the sun at Disney World. Lucky...
Ok, I'm heading inside now. It's getting chilly in my shorts.
