That sounds so much like what Beckett would do. I wish we'd actually find out what happened during that recovering period ... I hope we do at some point during the season.
I remember commenting somewhere recently that I thought Beckett would try to shut everyone out while she was healing except Lanie, because I didn't think Lanie would put up with that. I know she wouldn't be so cruel to her dad as to cut herself off from him after the horror he must have experienced when she was shot, but I really didn't see her opening up to him. I am kind of surprised that Lanie let her get away with it, but since Beckett was out in the woods, I guess all Lanie could really do was call, which I think Beckett would ignore in order not to face all the things Lanie would ask her about (particularly Castle and Josh)...
I'm hoping we might actually learn a bit about the time after the shooting when she was healing and obviously shutting everyone out and deciding Josh wasn't the right one for her.
It's weird; while I want the series to go back to being more lighthearted and fun (like the most recent episode), I do want some of the more serious stuff dealt with too, not just swept over and ignored. I'm contradictory, I know. :)
Well, yes, we Castle fans want a lot from the writers, but it's mostly because we know just how amazing they can be. They've set the bar high, but I have faith that they'll keep delivering.
I did think of you after watching this week's episode, because I thought they did a great job balancing last week's episode with something lighter and more fun. But yes, I definitely hope there will be more answers about Beckett's recovery. I almost wish they'd devoted a whole episode to the aftermath, instead of just the first quarter of Rise, but hey, I guess that's what fic is for :)
Too true. Sadly, I don't seem to be able to find time to read or write fic ... the only things I read are drabbles or anything less than about 600 words. Any more than that and I just don't even start. I keep hoping life will even out and I'll start finding time but so far that hasn't happened.
