As you've probably realized, I've decided to stealadopt
miyyu's and
squirrella's idea of writing about each book I read throughout the year, both to help me keep track and encourage myself to meet my reading goal for 2008. Thanks for the idea!
So, Lemony Snicket: The Unauthorized Autobiography. This was written before the Series of Unfortunate Events reached its conclusion, and I think it might have been better if he'd waited until after Book the Thirteenth. I realized, of course, that any book about Lemony Snicket would raise more questions than it answered. I did, however, think that it might answer more than one question. To be fair, I was happy that the one answer was about Esme and Jerome Squalor. I've always enjoyed Esme.
This is less of a fictional autobiography than it is a collection of (made-up) research notes thrown into a book in no particular order. Don't get me wrong; I enjoyed it, but I do think he took the mysterious incoherence thing a bit too far.
