Hopeless? or Local?

Right now I'm elbow deep in science. Just thought you should know.

No, I yawp that as an explanation, why there are no complaints from this corner of the globe, so sure, I choose to complain on behalf of others. But not because I have nothing else. I've been buried in earthquakes, and stumping for the union, because every time I hear about what to do, there's so much, you just have to try and impose your crazy batshit radical politics on your own little sphere. I mean, couldn't we all club baby seals, join the National Guard, get elected, and fix everything? Um, no.

"Like the students I spoke with two Saturday nights ago, the working class does not seem all that caught up in "the election trap." It doesn't harbor many illusions about candidates Obama or Clinton being big parts of meaningful solutions. "It's all a big corporate farce," is what one 50-something guy said to me about the presidential race. It's about something more significant than switching up corporate-vetted elites. People know the problems go a lot deeper than that. It's going to take something along the lines of a revolution." -Paul Street

I"m also playing with a Celtic band, because what feels better than slamming out 100 year-old songs in this musical climate? Nothing, that's what, except maybe dissociative drugs, but that's kind a drag on the time of someone like myself. No, today's got nothing to do with those damn kids and their music, it's all about those adults whose mortifying fear is that their kids will have "bad taste". It's why patricide is still in vogue.

I look up the ingredients in medicines for fun, and turns out they put tylenol and other assorted toxins in cough syrup with DM, you drink too much (for the dextromethorphan) and your liver fails 20 hours later. So in our enlightened world, the hallucinogen is the most harmless thing in there. Way to go, guys. I should have been a chemist. Oh, on that note, RIP Albert Hoffman, invented LSD, lived to 102. That pretty much says it all. Do what you will. Amen, Howie...
