Synopsis : Kai had been grateful towards his bandmates before but he knew the moment he laid his eyes on Aoi's sleeping face , it was more than just gratitude.

" Ne , Aoi-kuuuuun ~ " Kai called from where he was lying on the couch.
Aoi looked up from the sheets of music he was working on only to be met with Kai's mischievous grin as he stretched his arms out towards him.
" Aoi-kun , come sleep with me ! "
Aoi had two options , leave his music sheets alone and accompany their seemingly drunk leader as he slept , or , he could refuse the offer and get one of the staff to send Kai home safely. From the look of it , the first option would result in him having to deal with annoyed bandmates the next day but at the same time , the first option would allow him to get some sleep. The second option would enable him to get his work done but it would leave him with having to deal with a sad Kai instead. Aoi sighed.
" Ne , Kai-chan , are you drunk ? Did you find Uruha's liquor collection ? " Aoi asked after a few minutes while looking back down and re-arranging the music sheets again.
He was met with silence.
" Kai-chan ? " Aoi asked again , looking at the couch this time. What he saw brought a soft smile to his face. " Ahhhhh .. Should’ve known you'd fall asleep. " He said to himself as he stood up and stretched. He glanced at the clock by the amplifiers and noted the time. " About time I went home and got some sleep too , eh ? "
Kai was curled up on the couch , a big difference from when he was reaching out from Aoi a few minutes earlier. From being relatively happy and hyper , the Kai that was sleeping on the couch was much more calm , serene and , even though Aoi wouldn't admit it out loud , cute.
He looked around the messy studio and he finally felt relieved. The past few days had been positively hectic what with the release of the album coming up in a few days. They had finally wrapped everything up , or most of everything , and all that was left to do was to listen to the album and spot any mistakes before it could finally be sent for mass production and released to the rest of the world. Aoi was still working on editing and perfecting one of the pieces they were going to play when the rest had left , leaving him with Kai who was , at that time , still going over some administrative work with the managers and staff.
Aoi collected his belongings and stuffed it in his shoulder bag before looking around for Kai's personal belongings and stuffing them in Kai's small sling bag. He chuckled at the sight of the sling bag though. It was a fond memory he woundn't forget anytime soon. The sight of Kai's face when Reita had emptied his bag after he had complained of misplacing his wallet yet again had been absolutely epic. Kai had never brought such a spacious bag to practice again after that.
He shouldered both bags and made his way over to the couch , looking around one last time at the studio to make sure that he didn't leave anything behind before bending down. Aoi nudged Kai into an easier position so that he was able to lift Kai up. Aoi hoped that Kai wouldn't wake up , after all , he had been the one who had worked the hardest and had pushed himself further each time there was a new single or in any performance and besides , Kai definitely needed some sleep after all the buzz was over.
As Aoi lifted Kai up slowly , Kai hadn't woken up but had merely snuggled closer to the source of warmth and had made himself comfortable in Aoi's arms.
Aoi didn't know what it was but he was sure he felt his heart beat faster as Kai mumured quiet thank you into Aoi's jacket.

Kai woke up in a warm bed with a ray of light shining across his face. For a spilt second , he felt exposed , disoriented and scared but as soon as he titled his head to the left , all his previous thoughts evaporated in an instant.
Kai had been grateful towards his bandmates before but he knew the moment he laid his eyes on Aoi's sleeping face , it was more than just gratitude.
Kai felt his heart beat faster as he leaned forward and slowly pressed his lips against Aoi's plush lips with a soft , " Thank you. " And within that simple ' thank you ' , Kai had poured his feelings of gratitude and everything else into it. When he pulled back , he felt another set of lips against his own , pressing against it gently in a soft kiss and when Kai opened his eyes again , he was met with the most beautiful and rich pair of brown eyes he had ever seen.
" You're welcome. "
