New York Comic Con Sherlock Meetup Masterpost
This sticky post is for the sole purpose of organizing the nitty gritty details of this meetup. (Notice how it's backdated to stay up until the con ends).
Friday, October 14
Place: Javits Center. We are planning to meet at the registration counter.
Time:
7:15-7:30 pm
Details:
We have reservations at Thai Select at 472 9th Avenue, New York, NY for 8:00 pm - reservation is under Aubre Rose.
We are then heading on the C train to Washington Av in Brooklyn to go to
The Way Station at 683 Washington Ave, Brooklyn, NY.
Notes:
We’re supposed to have scattered thunderstorms and high is 72… so bring a sweater and and an umbrella can’t hurt.
WE NEED TO WALK. IT’S NEW YORK. MAKE SURE YOU BRING COMFY SHOES. If you are cosplaying (like me) - you might want to pack some flats and or change before you meet us. (Loake shoes FTW) In total - it’s about a mile from the Javits center to the subway. We then have to walk about 3/4 miles from the subway stop to the bar. If you aren’t down with that, bring some cab fare if its going to be easier for you.
YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE GOING TO THE CON TO GO. Please don’t think you do - just meet us up there and it’s all about the fandom :). HOWEVER- while those under 21 are more than welcome to join us for diner - we are going to a bar and under aged drinking is lame. So please be considerate.
WE WELCOME ALL SHERLOCK HOLMES FANS. We’re going to be a base of BBC fandom, but please feel free to join if you like canon, 2009, Granada, anything! It’s all about FANDOM LOVE. <3
