AnimeUSA '04
Time to update about my weekend.
Saturday
I woke up late (10:15 or so). Showered, packed up a bit, then called Shiene. Her dad came to pick me up.
Shiene and I arrived at the hotel at 11:30, I think. Registered, and headed to the dealer's room (because I knew Gamin was there, and I thought Sara was there). Saw Gamin, who was willing to give us discounts on items @ the Anime Pavillion booth thingy. Took a look around the dealer's room, then we headed to the game room.
In the game room, we bumped into Billy, Tulae, Ileana, and Luis (whom has gone to another school). Joy. Uh, there was a DDR machine there, which was pretty cool because mats suck. The game room this year was a definite improvement from last year, but the games were uninteresting ('cept Street Fighter: Third Strike). I called David Gu and he met up with me at the game room. He introduced me to his friend, Hieu, and his little brother, Kevin. We went on our adventure to find out where Sara was because she wasn't picking up her cell phone.
David reminded me that Sara said she would be at the artists' alley. So, we tried to find another way to get to the lower level other than the elevators (the elevators took way too long). We found a spiral staircase in the pool area (it was a very deceiving staircase--made you believe that it led to the pool instead). Ran around artists' alley, couldn't find Sara. We went back up to the lobby and tried calling her again, then she picked up. We went back down, where Sara practically jumped on me and I fell to the ground. Talked a bit, David bought a card with the kanji for 'ninja' on it, then we walked around again.
Uhm... I can't remember what happened. I just remember now that we were walking to McDonald's (Hieu, Kevin, David, Sara, and I) because Sara needed to get food for her bosses. The walk was pretty long on the way there because we ended up walking around the parking lot because we're stupid, lol. Anyways, ate, Sara went back to work.
Oh yeah, I remember going back to Gamin's room just to chill before the Camino concert. Yeah, I think the room made the both of us more sick.
Tried getting in line for the Camino concert but I couldn't find Shiene. We both quit because the line was too long. Went to the game room. I bumped into Mark! Mark is a buddy that I used to play 3rd Strike with back in '00 @ SFM. Ahh, memories. I played some 3rd Strike (I'm so rusty) and yeah. Tried entering the tournament but the guy running it (Justin) didn't show up. Bastard! Just kidding.
Uh, went to eat dinner after a few conflicts with Gamin and her business dinner. Sara, Gamin, and I got a free dinner thanks to Shiene. Yay. I had a good time talking and eating with them, YO'. We went back to Gamin's room just to hang out. Good times.
Sara, Shiene, and I went to meet up with David, Vichhana, and Hieu. We just hung out and stuff, took a lot of pictures. I got a little bubble thingy from a man that just came back from a wedding party. It was sooo cool. Uh, David gave Sara a present for her birthday (31st). Awww. And, uhm, yeah. Sara left.
We went back to the game room. Shiene, I believe, was spectating the DDR tournament while I was sitting with the others at the bar. We just talked and such, while Andy and Vich made futile attempts to take my picture. Stayed there for a while, then headed to the little rave/dance thing.
Oh, congrats to Kevin for winning the DDR tournament.
David and I didn't feel like recording Vich and Andy doing their glowsticking/glowstringing thing, so we went to check out Juon. Juon is just like The Grudge at first, but then it just became different after a certain scene. Had to leave in the middle of the movie because Shiene and I needed to go home.
Spent the night at Shiene's. =)
Sunday
HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO SARA! AND HAPPY HALLOWEEN! (I'm late)
Woke up at 10:30. My dad came around 11:15. I managed to get $10 from my stepmom.
I went into the game room and got two Prince of Tennis posters plus three Naruto pins from Gamin's stand. I only had to pay $8 because she doesn't care about the boss and working there. Met up with David, Andy, Andrew (is that his name?), and Vich. Andy got me a Fuji plushieee! It's so adorable. Fuji is holding a guitar, lol. Anyways, we played 13, then Vich and I played speed. We then headed to the game room. They took our 3rd Strike (*cry*), so I just played DDR with Shiene. Vich tried playing with Shiene, but he quit after the first song from embarassment, I think (a lot of people were watching). Afterwards, I headed to the dealer's room to pick up more smuggled stuff for Kathy and Gamin. Sat outside of the dealer's room with David to wait for Gamin to get off of work, but this was after David bought me two CDs for the awesomely discounted price of $15 (together, the CDs are actually $55 or so). Eventually everyone gathered in front of the dealer's room and just lounged around. I got everyone to help the Anime Pavillion pack up. I just sat outside to watch there stuff, switched on and off with Hanna, Andy's little sister. I went in and out of the Camino Q&A, too. Mucho cuteness, yo'. KKiDD is my favorite one (the DJ).
Gamin got to get out early so I was able to give her the shitload of stuff she gave Shiene, David, and I to hold. She left later afterwards. I waited for the others to get off, which took a long time. They got wallscrolls as a token of their hard work. Uh, I got Camino's autographs on the back of my AUSA badge plus a picture with KKiDD! KKiDD is soooo cool. The bassist, Taka, is cool too. He loves potato chips and said: "I wish I could play my bass and eat chips at the same time (sadface)." Well, not really the sadface, but whatever. Let's see... I thanked David for getting me another surprise present left in my backpack (a dog stuff animal that looked like Po and feels awesome), sat around some more, then Shiene and I had to go. Said our goodbyes to the others, and David walked us to the entrance. Huggage and such, then left.
Jay was the one who picked us up. He dropped Shiene off then dropped me off because I didn't feel like going out anymore.
After an hour and some heavy nagging from Jay, I decided to go trick-or-treating with Tim, Daniel, Jay, and Jerico at their neighborhood. All I wore was a shirt, pajama pants, and a hoodie jacket. I was really lazy and tired at the time.
Daniel had the mask from Scream 'cept when it's all retarded looking, and Tim had a weird basketball mask. Went around for a while before we met up with Eric and Greg. Eric had a bandana on his face and looked totally gangster. He gave me a do-rag (is that what it's called?) so I did what he did plus put on my hood. I was a ninja/gangster, yo'. Went trick-or-treating for a while longer, then we split. Tim went to Soo's neighborhood, Daniel, Jerico, and Jay went to go eat at Wendy's, and Eric, Greg, and I went to Home Depot. We were trying to look for airhorns so we could scare people, but none was there. Eric and Greg ran an errand at some building for their Government class, then we met up with the others at John Lee's house.
Just watched some TV, Jerico was hacking on CS. Didn't stay long. I got dropped off by Jay.
That ends the wonderful weekend. Had no school today because of teachers' workdays. Election day tomorrow. Vote, you fags.
