my dar post...better late than never...
so a couple weeks ago i went to see the lovely dar williams, who quickly became my new best friend. i seriously fell in love with this woman all over again. her musis is fused with amazing melodies and the most poetic lyrics i've ever heard. plus, she weaves her personal life into each song so you can truly see that she's singing her life story, which is such a rare and beautiful thing. but yes, she's a musical genius, she's extremely intelligent and she's so down-to-earth. AND....drum roll please.....the best part of the evening was standing outside the theatre waiting for her after the show. and yes, my friends the wait paid off. for i met the beautiful, talented, and intelligent dar williams. she's so little and sweet and down-to-earth and has the sweetest smile and gorgeous sparkling blue eyes. she's truly amazing.
and here is my tangible proof....
and now...in order to capture the best of dar in just one disc, i have made my own personal version of a dar's greatest hits cd. i can make copies if anyone's interested in checking out dar or getting their hands on this amazing cd. here's the playlist...i tried to represent every album, except for "end of the summer," which i just really dont like so much. and her newest album "my better self" is heavily represented because it just rocks out. but yeah, the playlist:
