i just need to announce that authority is NOT determined by age. hypothetical situation: person A is 62 and person B is 23. that does not, by any means, indicate that person A has any authority over person B. all it means is that person A is fucking old, haggard and senile. person B has a college education (college wasnt even invented back in person A's days), person B has intelligence, competence and common sense (person A does not) and person B has a higher ranked position than person A. person A is a secretary for crying out loud. so technically, person B has authority over person A.
