(no subject)
i guess things are all happening at once. i went to return some the blockbuster movies and decided to pop into every store around to get job applications. i pop into eckerd's, which used to be genevose. they weren't hiring. next i hop into duane reade. the manager shows me to that computerized shit that takes the place of actual paper applications these days. he asks me some questions before and after and then tells me to come in at 4pm for training. so i'm hired. on the spot. insanity.
so i come home all excited because i finally got a job and all. i call my mom to tell her and she tells me to call some number and ask for diane. i do and diane proceeds to tell me that i can't go to hunter because they don't offer a remedial math class. my heart sank. but! i can go to bmcc and then automatically transfer into hunter when i pass next semester. i think that's what she said. either way i have to go in and see her tuesday morning.
so now i am going to school (a shitty one with people i probably have nothing in common with) and i have a job.
and just now as i type this, my cell phone rang. someone from kmart. they want to see me for an interview next tuesday. and i agreed to go even though i just got hired at duane reade. what the fuck. so things are working out somehow. not to mention i made it in time to blockbuster so i don't have to pay the late fee.
my mom's as happy as a pig in shit about this whole duane reade thing. i wonder how long i'll actually last here though.
