I'm now heading on the tail-end of February. Not to much has transpired since my last entry. Mostly, again, I've been watching a bunch of movies. Netflix has always been a constant for me but lately I've been watching a bunch of newer releases due to Laura working at Family Video. She gets to take home any movie for free that has not been released "to be able to give her opinion for customers." Also, this last month she was awarded a "manger's discount" and rent any movie older than 2 weeks old for free as well. So this way I'm focusing on older movies with Netflix.
Also with Netflix I've been watching Transformers: Armada. When the series first debuted in 2002 I made it through about 10 episodes before the monotony of "find the Mini-Con" and schoolwork made it so I couldn't keep up with the series. I bought the comics and have most of the toys, but the cartoon was elusive. Now I'm finally catching up. It's nice to watch a bunch of episodes in a row rather than have to wait days between. I had heard before that it flowed better this way and I find that I agree. Also, with my newfound obsession with www.tfwiki.net, I've been taking notes and helping to fill out the Armada episode entries with Trivia and Character storylinks.
The Oscars are this weekend! I don't care how self-indulgent they are. It's the big night of the year to celebrate moviemaking. I'm not big in trying to predict the winners so the only time I do so is when I'm offered prizes for guessing correctly. I still haven't seen any of the best picture contenders, but tomorrow I plan on heading to the AMC 30 out in Warrenville to take part of their showcase of all 5 Best Picture contenders for a single price. I'll probably do another entry for Movies On Trial afterward to wrap up seeing all 5 at once followed by the awards. I definitely need to update that blog more often.
