That Meme That's Going Around

The "Getting to Know You" meme is going around, and I thought I'd do it this time, as it happens that I have a lot of new people on the flist just recently and they probably don't know much about me other than that I have a sick and twisted sense of humor.
So, without further ado:
Welcome to the (adapted) 2008 edition of getting to know your friends. Okay, here's what you're supposed to do, and try not to be lame and spoil the fun! Copy this entire email post and paste into a new email post that you can send post, change all the answers so that they apply to you. Then post it on your LJ send this to a whole bunch of people you know, INCLUDING the person that sent it to you. Some of you may get this several times (that means you have lots of friends or a lot of bored people on your flist).
1. What is your occupation? Graduate student in English Literature.
2. What color are your socks right now? Black.
3. What are you listening to right now? iTunes; Elliott Smith's "Junk Bond Trader" is the current selection. Also the pounding of hammers, because my neighbor is getting his house re-roofed.
4. What was the last thing that you ate? Gallon of black coffee and a toasted bagel with cream cheese.
5. Can you drive a stick shift? Noooo. I love my automatic transmission.
6. If you were a crayon, what color would you be? Black.
7. Last person you spoke to on the phone? Best Friend, so we could talk about plans for the weekend.
8. Do you like the person who sent this to you? Yes.
9. How old are you today? 28.
10. Favorite drink? I can only have one? Whisky, then. Or a good dirty martini.
11. What is your favorite sport to watch? Ice hockey, especially the Detroit Red Wings. I'm from Michigan; it's a way of life here.
12. Have you ever dyed your hair? Yes, but only to a darker shade of black. Nobody noticed.
13. Pets? Two cats: Othello and Otto. They sometimes wear silly hats.
14. Favorite food? Hmm, chocolate or cheese? It's definitely one of those.
15. Last movie you watched? On DVD: 3:10 to Yuma. At the theater: OotP.
16. Favorite Day of the year? I don't know. Halloween?
17. What do you do to vent anger? Glower, brood silently, walk around in stompy boots and make cutting remarks designed to take the flesh off the person who's offended me. Possibly plot revenge.
18. What was your favorite toy as a child? Stuffed Snoopy doll. I loved him and tied ribbons around his ears. (He was slightly gender-confused.)
19. What is your favorite season? Winter, for the sheer beauty of new snow.
20. Hugs or kisses? Hugs.
21. Cherry or Blueberry? Cherry. There's something unpleasantly gritty about fresh blueberries.
22. Do you want your friends to email you? Sure, as long as they aren't just forwarding me chain-letter tripe.
23. Who is most likely to respond? Anybody who has the time, I suppose.
24. Who is least likely to respond? People who don't do memes.
26. When was the last time you cried? Last July, when a very dear friend of mine died a tragic and pointless death. And no, I don't mean Snape.
27. What is on the floor of your closet? Books and black shoes. Stacks and stacks of books and black shoes. Also, a kitty nest that Othello has made out of one of my old sweaters.

30. Favorite smells? Books, woodsmoke, incense, vanilla, jasmine, lilacs
31. Who inspires you? People I've met and fictional characters I've loved.
32. What are you afraid of? Large insects, deep water, public humiliation, failure or mockery.
33. Plain, cheese or spicy hamburgers? Cheese, preferably also with grilled onions.
34. Favorite car? I have a PT Cruiser which has served me very well.
35. Favorite cat breed? I'm partial to Oriental types, especially Siamese. Othello is a Siamese mix.
