Arctic Boosh? (or: Howard and Vince in the Tundra. Sort of.)

So... do you remember my cryptic mention of plans for all the snow in my backyard? Plans that involved props? Well, amongst a number of fun activities this weekend, I made good on those plans and built Booshy snowmen. Yes, my backyard is now hosting Snoward Moon and Vince Snow-r. :D

The seed for this project was planted a few weeks ago, when my Dad suggested an Old Gregg snowman. (Not this time, but maybe next year. ~plots~) In any case, the idea inspired other ideas, and I started planning. And gathering supplies. And probably putting entirely too much thought into silly things like height differential, and the size of Howard's eyes, and how to sculpt Vince's nose.

I've been trying to make this happen for weeks. My first couple of attempts failed, because it was so cold that the snow was too dry and refused to pack. But I refused to give up, and my patience was finally rewarded with a warm-up this weekend, which meant melting, which meant wet snow that would pack without me having to resort to a spray bottle. I leapt at the opportunity yesterday, and this is the result, just in time for Valentine's Day:

Howard's got a bit of a tum, but Vince loves that about him. Howard's wardrobe was put together out of borrowed bits and pieces, and he's particularly proud of the Muscular Taupe Hawaiian shirt.

Vince's look comes entirely from my closet, although he's still pouting because I wouldn't let him borrow the Mirrorball Top. It's a bit hard to see, but he has a sculpted nose, and his eyes are blue behind his sunglasses.

And here they are together. Snow!Vince and Snow!Howard are joined at the hip, much like the real (fictional) Howard and Vince. :D

It's a little tough to see with their clothes there, but they are holding little twiggy hands, too!

They'd like to wish you all a very Happy (and very Booshy) Valentine's Day!

And I want to wish you all a very Happy Valentine's Day myself. I decided a few years ago to not think of this day in terms of romantic love, which not everybody is lucky enough to experience, but in terms of just plain love, which is hopefully universal. So for me, Valentine's Day is an opportunity to celebrate the people I love--family and friends--and to tell them that they make my world a brighter, better place for being in it. And so you do. ~hugs~

Consider yourselves all my valentines, dear Flist, and know that you're being thought of with love today. As Ralph Wiggum might say, I choo-choo-choose you! &hearts
