Things that are good

1. I woke up this morning with a raging sinus-induced headache, but it's gone now. Thank goodness for caffeine and painkillers, no? I'd never get anything done without them.

2. Tom Izzo is a Spartan for life. ~glee~ No real fan of Michigan State would have begrudged him the opportunity to coach LeBron James in the NBA--he earned the opportunity through a combination of hard work, determination and rare talent--but I'd be lying if I said there wasn't much rejoicing in Spartyville after he made his announcement. :D We love our Izzo, and we know we're fortunate to have him; there's no other coach quite like him. And now we can start dreaming about next year's tournament...

3. Planning for Infinitus is going well on all fronts. I have some intriguing articles to consider and am looking forward to working on the formal presentation this weekend. I've also been having entirely too much fun plotting the menus and cooking logistics for our Fangirl Village with my fellow Cooking Wenches (~adores wenches~). And I've also been working on plotting involving hpcon_envy, which will be up and running an Infinitus Envy fest for all those who can't make it to Florida but want to be entertained and connected to other fans. (And for all those who come back from Infinitus and find themselves suffering post-con depression). We're planning a few new features this year which will hopefully (~crosses fingers~) allow Con Enviers to feel more connected to con attendees than ever, and I'm really excited about the prospect.

4. Taking the kidlets to see Toy Story 3 this weekend. They're already in love with the first two Toy Story movies (Goddaughter idolizes Jessie the Cowgirl and Godson likes Buzz Lightyear), and they've been anxious to see this one for months. I'm not even going to pretend that I'm not just as excited to see it as they are. *g* The gorgeous thing about the Pixar films is that they can stay with you for life. That is, they're zippy and funny and colorful enough to delight kids when they're young, but as those kids age, they can grow to appreciate the beautiful composition, the sophisticated storytelling, the layers of subtext, the emotional resonance that makes the film just as appealing to adults, if not more so. Their emphasis on character versus gimmickry makes them timeless, and I look forward to discussing them with Goddaughter as she grows up.

5. Utterly superficial and yet deeply satisfying: the bathing suit I've pondered ordering for Infinitus has just been marked down $40. I believe this is the Universe's way of telling me to just buy the damn thing. If only convincing myself that it's okay to wear it in public were as simple and painless... (Yes, yes, my logical mind understands that you're not actually going to judge me based on whether or not I look terrible in a bathing suit. But this is not my logical mind talking; it's my screaming, panicky hindbrain that is running around flapping its arms and wibbling.)
