Putting the Blue in Bluestocking/ Azkatraz Recap, Day 1

Jul 22, 2009 17:35

Well, I was warned about post-con depression by those who have done these things before. I just didn't quite anticipate how hard it would hit. ( Cut to spare the flist )

*hugs you* I regret not being able to chat with you more too, Bluey. No judgments here, none at all; the whirlwind is the whirlwind, and I have fond smiling memories of catching glimpses of the lovely Rowena through all the camera flashes. :) *waves from prairie*

~hugs~

The whirlwind is amazing and beautiful and dizzying, and it's also completely irresistible, I fear. I got swept up in it before I knew what had happened! Not that I didn't have an enormous amount of fun, but still, there people! People I wanted to talk to! Right there, and yet I never got to do it! ~flails~

(Though I do wish I'd been seated at your table at Lori's Diner, rather than the... interesting... soul who is evidently an expert on everything under the sun, including my diadem. And Nazi germany.)

And I have equally lovely memories of a stunning vision in pink chiffon! There were quite a lot of camera flashes, particularly for you. I've never had so many people I've never met want to take my picture before. It was disconcerting.

It gets better, promise. but first it gets worse, right after the sleep deprivation wears off.

Then you start looking at the next con and reconsidering costumes and planning and...

I'm still kicking myself for not meeting everyone I wanted to and for not talking more and longer with people and for not recognizing ANYONE....

The sleep deprivation is wearing off slowly, so thank you for the warning! I'll be braced.

And yes, I'm already turning to thoughts of Infinitus to cheer me up! I have much bigger plans for cosplay, now that I know what to expect.

Speaking of costumes, yours were amazing! I can't remember if I told you that or not, but you looked great.

Aw, shucks... *blush*... thank you.

Damn that Droxy... she sucks us all into cosplay more and more by showing us how it *could* be done really well.

You are welcome in any room I happen to be in at any time. And if it's cookies you want, then cookies you shall have. *squishes* The lack of Potter talk is loud in my ears. There's a good chance I'll start talking Potter to myself...

~squishes back~ I'd be delighted to share any room with you! It was so good to meet you and get to know you better.

And yes, the Potter silence is deafening. I've tried talking to the cats, but they don't have much to say about theories regarding Snape's patronus, unfortunately. ;-)

Sounds as if you had a wonderful time!

And I am SO JEALOUS! Sectus was wonderful, but I really would have liked to go to Azkatraz and meet all the people who didn't make it to Sectus...

I did have a wonderful time, it's true! It could only have been made more wonderful if I'd been able to have my whole flist there with me. ~hugs~

And yes, I did get you a postcard. :-)

~squishes and glomps~

Yay! Pictures will be forthcoming as soon as I can get through them.

The letdown is fierce, although probably inevitable. I'm actually glad to be home, although I genuinely loved San Francisco. The real problem is that I want to be able to bring everybody home with me, and obviously that can't happen!

Thank goodness for the internets, huh? It's not ONLY good for porn. ;-)
