Oh holy crap...why did Mac let me have widgets to put all over my desktop? Now, in addition to cluttering up my real life, I have, among other things, a chia pet, Tom, Crow, and Joel pointing at something, the weather, a hula girl, and an alligator telling me "Bill Gates flings beautiful waterfalls." Not to mention yet another thing to help me

when I first switched to linux, I did the same thing, playing with all the nifty gtk widgets in gnome. I soon tired of them both because they were unecessary and because they slowed down my computer. I never missed them.

I kinda like 'em, at least for the time being, and haven't noticed any effect on my computer. Plus...come on, chia pets!!!

you should get some of those little fuzzy pom poms thingies with the big feet and googly eyes instead and put them all over your actual desk. Poof. problem solved.
