Wow. I saw the last bit of that story on Sunday, but I'm glad I got a chance to catch up on the rest of it now. Really fascinating stuff! It's not often that something so seemingly nebulous can be given definition and a source, and I can't wait to see what's discoverd as this research progresses.

Yeah...hearing about the differences between the two twins is especially interesting (and yay for parents not making their children conform to traditional gender roles!).

Definitely! While she acknowledged that she had hoped for two masculine boys, I love that she still embraces Adam for who he is, and not only that, but lets HIM embrace who he is. Very cool, and very reassuring to see that kind of a support in a country that seems ever-increasingly conservative. Props to her, for sure.

That was a great article. I learned a lot. And 9 year old Adam made me so happy. It warms my heart to see a boy who is not ashamed to be feminine. Of course it may be a different story when he gets older...

Yeah, I was really delighted to hear about him and his mother's attitude (and delighted by the fact he wears purple sparkly nail polish). But yes, he might definitely have trouble as he gets older; even if his parents are comfortable with him expressing his gender identification, his classmates likely won't.

1. Sooo.. 5pgs comes down to... it still could be anything. Thank you 60min.
2. Being "feminine" (defined as wearing nail polish, etc} doesn't really associate with being gay... more like a transvestite {or to quote Eddie Izzard: "An executive transvestite!"}
3. Playing Neopets: The Darkest Faerie does not make someone gay!
4. I totally want some purple, sparkly nail polish right now

::goes back to playing Neopets::

1. Yeah, I'm not sure we'll ever know the nature of sexual orientation. Still interesting to read about it though.
2. Very true.
3. Also true.
4. Hell yes!
