(no subject)
I woke up this morning and stepped outside. The weather is beautiful: sunny and cooler than it has been recently at 8 am. I thought to myself, today would be an excellent day to call in late to work, sit outside the coffee shop on the square, drinking coffee and reading a book and talking to whatever strangers may happen along (well, aside from that annoying guy who always asks me for cigarettes and then sits down, interupting whatever conversation I might be having, but that guy aside...). Instead, I went to take care of my registration, bought a chocolate croissant from Ravelin, shut my foot in my car door, and nearly got rear-ended after slamming on my breaks when a Miata tried to turn the wrong way down Hickory. So it goes.
