May the best team win

It was hard to favour any one team. I've always liked the unencumbered way that Brazil play, but I like France. Last night things changed. Brazil seemed held back. They looked as if they didn't want to play. Get the ball near the opponents goal and pass it to the defenders seemed to be the strategy. Carlos was the only Brazilian who seemed like he had a plan. Keep the ball away from the goal. He did his job well, and precisely.

France on the other hand, had a plan. As far as they're concerned, the game was won before they even went out into the field. They piled defenders onto Ronaldo and Ronaldiño. The attacked Cafu. They held Kaka at bay. Zidane was his old self again. It's true that he can do things with the ball that no one else can. Not even Ronaldiño.

All in all, I'd say that if Brazil is going to keep playing the kind of drab football that they are, then I'd rather not watch them play anymore. France has started playing entertaining football, and if Henry can take his head out of his hands for a while and stop playing innocent, they'd really look like world champions.

Germany-France finals anyone?
