I haven't made an entry here in quite a while. I've made a few of the longer-than-140-characters-but-not-really-long-enough entries at facebook occasionally. Usually about the band or related music stuff.
I'm still currently living with my folks during the week in Salem, driving to Tigard to work, and up to Seattle each weekend for gigs. Being caught up with bills is a good feeling, but currently I'm just caught up, not making headway just yet; though with this latest paycheck I should be looking into a Tigard-Beaverton-S.Portland apartment. I've done a little looking. I still need to catch up on other things and retrieve a few items from the pawn shop, but I'm definitely ready t cut an hour and a half to two hours per day of work commute out of my schedule.
The job I'm currently doing is like many others, I like some aspects and despise others. I've met a few people who I think can be a great help to my musical career here, but I haven't had the opportunity to put that plan in motion just yet. I think getting the apartment would be a good step before starting to work that plan.
Music has been going well. The last two new venues have brought additional interest for others. Doing the Blues Bash in Kennewick prompted conversation of doing the Untapped Blues Festival next Summer. Doing the Prohibition Grille gig this past Saturday, the exec chef of Alligator Soul was around, and enjoyed the band and wants to find us a date there.
It's been a carpet cleaning month. I did some furniture moving and room switching at he Redmond apartment with Dan earlier, and now tonight Mom and Dad did a major cleaning.
Looking forward to this weekend: I'll be doing a huge political rally, a family festival, and then meeting my friends for their monthly writer's night all in one day.
