What... was that?

[His voice sounds angry, and he is--really, seriously pissed, actually. What kind of resort does things like this? And won't let anyone leave? After a moment of angry seething, he just sighs. He'll let it go, for now. Until he can get more information.]

Is everyone else okay? I'm am, but... just... fighting those things wasn't ( Read more... )

[...Powers. But are they the same as Roxas Roxas'? Only one way to find out. It's also the only way to find out what he means by 'problems'. Is it just the monsters? Or...]

[She's not quite comfortable with letting him know what she can do, just yet. There are way too many variables here. So she tries to smile, to be pleasant -- it sounds a little hollow, but she's starting to get a little better at it. She's still not sure whether that's a good thing.]

What's wrong?

Naminé? Are you alright? [His voice feed probably cut out during that battle. Well, he hoped she hadn't thought the worst.]

I have some powers that aren't working. It's making it hard to fight.

Yes, I'm fine. [She lets out a little sigh, turning her head so that it's a little muffled. She hadn't even realized that she'd been afraid he might not recognize her; if there was one Not-Roxas, there could be more. And after what happened that night... well, she hadn't thought the worst, exactly. She hadn't let herself, and somewhere in the part of her mind that was still foolishly trusting, she hadn't been able to help but feel almost like it couldn't be the worst. He - or, she had to remind herself, Roxas Roxas - had lost to Riku, but... he was no pushover. Still, it was nice to know that this was her - or, erm, the one that she'd been talking to - Not-Roxas.]

You're not injured, are you?

I'm okay. Axel was better at fighting those things than I was. [And he wasn't sure he liked that. He didn't want to rely on Axel for everything, but if the things came back and he was stuck outside, he might not have much of a choice. They hadn't seem to like fire, at any rate.]

That's... good. That you're okay, I mean.

....

[...Well, she needs to know. She doesn't like playing dumb (it feels too much like lying) but...]

...You mentioned... 'powers'?

[Her voice sounds, to her at least, suitably mixed between curiosity and incredulity, but what it really is is discomfort. ...Yep, definitely like lying.]

[He shrugged, though he realized she couldn't see him. He wasn't going to explain everything, but he'd go over the basics, if she really wanted to know. What harm could it do?]

I have a weapon I can use, but it's not as easy as it used to be. It takes a lot of energy. And it couldn't even hurt those things.

Oh, I see.

[She pauses for a moment, considering her options. She... could try to get more information. He didn't really seem to want to tell her anything more, but would he, if she asked? ...Was it worth it? Was it worth this awful sensation in her gut? Was it worth lying - or at least something close?]

[...No, it wasn't. She would just have to assume that what he was talking about was what she thought it was. If it wasn't, well... theoretically, she'd find out sooner or later. But if it was a keyblade, then who was Not-Roxas, really?]

[Suddenly she realizes that she's been silent for a little too long. She clears her throat, and then says the first thing that comes to mind.]

That sounds... inconvenient.

[He sighed. That was an understatement... if he couldn't fight, what was he supposed to do?] Yeah, it is.

[Then it hit him, what she wasn't saying, and hadn't even responded to.] So you don't have any powers at all?

[...She can't just leave it like that. But she can't tell him, either! Not with the Organization around. ...Not with him possible still being in the Organization. And she's not just going to lie straight out. She's not that far gone. ...Yet. But...]

I...

....

Nothing that... would be useful in a fight.

Oh. [That didn't tell him a lot. But... she didn't seem to want to talk about it. He didn't really need to know, unless... unless it was a threat, somehow. Unless she was part of--but, she couldn't be. Right?]

Are they useful in other ways?

....

[This is dangerous territory, and she knows it, but... she can't shake the feeling that she should tell him, if only a little bit. That she should at least give him that. Her tone is... oddly resigned, and a little bit sad when she finally speaks up.]

They're--... They could be, I guess. It really depends on how you use them.

....

And who wants to use them.

Who...?

[Oh. Oh. No wonder she hadn't wanted to talk about it. He knew what that was like... someone using your powers for their own goals. Being deceived. He knew that feeling, and if that had happened to her, he wouldn't press her any further.]

Sorry.

[...She hadn't really meant to say that, but... at least now he understood that she didn't want to talk about it. She still felt underhanded, some how.]

....

...It's alright. It's... not your fault.

[Is she stupid, for thinking that? He was a part of the Organization. For all she knew, he wasn't involved, but....]

[...But there was something like understanding that she could have sworn she heard.]

[Maybe not, but that didn't mean he didn't feel bad. The Organization had done some pretty bad things, and he hadn't exactly stopped them. ...Well. Actually, on more than one occasion, he had helped.]

At least you're away from that now, right?

[He didn't realize until after he'd asked the question that she might not be. Stupid... still, it was out there now; he couldn't take it back.]
